Welcome to Understanding Principles for Better Living Church (UP Church) – A Bible-based New Thought spiritual community with global impact.
Under the leadership of the Senior Minister, Rev. Sherri James, our spiritual community is a safe place for spiritual giants to discover, refine and release their spiritual gifts. We are called to take our message of self-empowerment through awareness of Christ within, to everyone who will receive it.
Here at UP Church, we are an inclusive spiritual community embracing all people and cultures — however you choose to identify. Our vision is to love every person up to their true identity and their highest potential for the greater good of all.
We are on a mission to express God’s Divine Love through teaching and practicing spiritual principles; worship experiences; soulful music; fellowship activities; and community outreach.
At UP Church, we celebrate God’s Presence; communicate God’s Word; educate God’s People; and demonstrate God’s Love.

“When I first came to UP Church . . .
. . . I wasn’t necessarily looking for a church to belong to. I have always been a spiritual person and was studying a metaphysical approach to healing. What intrigued me about Up Church is that they embraced and taught metaphysical bible lessons. This kind of preaching was so different than the hell and damnation teaching that I grew up with that I kept tuning in to see what else I could learn. This also made me feel at home and that my beliefs were valid and that I could belong to a church and grow spiritually.
